How does this work?
The spring powered Injector delivers the vaccine by means of a narrow, precise fluid stream, which penetrates the skin in about 1/10 of a second and gets the vaccine where it needs to be. No external power source is required.
What does the injection feel like?
Not unlike traditional injections, individuals will respond differently to the needle-free injection. Some feel nothing, while others have reported feeling the pressure of the injection or a snap like a rubber band when the injection is administered.
Have these devices received regulatory approval?
Yes. The PharmaJet Stratis Needle-free Injector has been cleared by the FDA and other recognized international regulatory agencies. The PharmaJet Tropis device has authorization to apply the CE Mark. An FDA Master File was established in August of 2017 as a precursor to 510(k) and Tropis received WHO Pre-Qualification (PQS) in June of 2018.
Are the syringes reusable on multiple patients?
No. Each needle-free syringe is sterile, auto disabling and cannot be reused.
What are the benefits of needle-free technology?
Needle-free technology significantly reduces patient fear and anxiety associated with getting a needle injection. It eliminates needlestick injuries to healthcare workers, greatly reduces the need for sharps disposal, eliminates needle reuse and the possibility of cross-contamination.
Are vaccinations using this device comparably priced to needles?
Yes. The cost of an injection with the PharmaJet device is comparable to a needle injection. Check with your individual retail pharmacy.
